Sage Garden Company approached Wasteland Marketing to create a brand identity that would reflect its mission: helping people reconnect with their food, their health, and the land around them. The result was a fresh, nature-forward visual identity that balances earthy authenticity with a refined, modern aesthetic—inviting clients to see gardening not just as a hobby, but as a pathway to wellness and self-sufficiency.
Brief
Sage Garden Company offers garden consultations, design, and installation, specializing in kitchen gardens, herb gardens, medicinal herbs, and pollinator-friendly spaces. As the sister company to Inside Out Health Company, its purpose is deeply rooted in education—helping people understand the connection between growing food and living well.
The goal of the brand was to communicate this philosophy clearly: gardening as a source of nourishment, empowerment, and environmental stewardship. As the founder shared, the heart of the business is “helping people grow more real food” while also “providing more food for bees.” The identity needed to feel fresh, natural, and approachable, while still conveying a sense of quality and expertise.
The target audience includes women ages 30–60 who are interested in wellness, cooking, sustainability, and creating meaningful change at home—often by starting in their own backyard.
Solution
Wasteland Marketing developed a brand identity centered on the sage plant itself, creating a logo that feels crisp, clean, and rooted in nature while maintaining a refined, elevated tone. The visual direction balanced earthy elements with a modern simplicity to reflect the brand’s blend of practical gardening knowledge and wellness-focused lifestyle guidance.
The design system included:
A custom logo inspired by sage leaves and garden growth
A natural color palette featuring greens, soft neutrals, and sandy tones
Typography and visual elements that feel fresh, approachable, and quietly sophisticated
The resulting identity communicates the essence of Sage Garden Company: gardening that supports health, sustainability, and everyday joy. It signals to clients that this is not just about planting vegetables—it’s about cultivating a lifestyle grounded in nourishment, connection, and care for the earth.
